Key Club International, a service leadership program of Kiwanis International, is the oldest and largest service organization for high school students. It gives its members opportunities to provide service, build character, and develop leadership skills. Starting in California in 1925, Key Club today thrives on more than 5,000 high school campuses with a total membership of 200,000 in 40 countries. NYDKC currently stands at more than 12,000 members!
Just to get an idea of the vastness of Key Club, here is the breakdown:
There are 33 Districts in Key Club International. There are 28 Divisions in the New York District Key Club. There are 11 School Key Clubs in Division 6.
The goal that Lieutenant Governor Sadia Ferdous has for this year is to have the clubs of this division unite towards making more events possible with high club involvement. The plan is to achieve as much involvement from each club as possible and to get as many people to attend service project events.
